Another Christmas Poem
44Have a Beautiful Christmas, enjoy the lights
Enjoy the smiles, and yummy sweet bites
But don’t forget, who provided it all
Not just the food, or presents ya’ll
Remember the truth, in all that you do
Know the story behind it, do you have a clue?
What is the meaning, behind all of this?
What’s with that bright star and all of these gifts?
Who is that baby, in all those scenes?
All over town, the lights, reds and greens?
You came to a place, where you can know
After you die, where will you go?
You don’t have to listen, You’re welcome to go
Have you made up your mind? Okay, so…
It began with Mary, God’s chosen one
To be the Mom of his precious dear son
From a virgin birth, Jesus was born
This gift was from God, though many would scorn
He pointed him out, with a bright star
So people would know, way from afar
God gave Jesus to pay the price
To be the ultimate sacrifice
God had raised him, for this reason
He willingly died, accused of treason
Upon him they spat, and pushed thorns in his head
Drove nails through his body, and hung him till dead.
Jesus the savior, died in our place
Because of God’s love, and forgiving grace
Now where are you going after you die?
After you cheat or steal or lie?
Accept the gift that God’s given’ for you
He gave it whether or not you do
Ask the Lord, to come in to your heart
And you can have a brand new start
And every time, you get off track
He will forgive you, and you can come back
To illustrate the new life he gave us
We bring in a tree in, in awe of Jesus
We hang up lights amidst the dark night
As Jesus appeared to show us right
We give gifts in respect, to celebrate
The offering of Christ, so precious and great
We hang up a star, to show the way
God pointed to man, to follow that day
What now, does Christmas mean to you?
The tree and the gifts and chocolate fondue?
The pretty lights, and that big shiny star
That all of us, can see from afar
Remember this poem, as you celebrate
Christmas this year, and stop and wait
A moment to think, about the Christ
That died in your place, and paid your price.
